About Scope

Scope’s purpose is to create meaningful opportunities for people with disability to belong and thrive. We support people with physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities to achieve their goals. Scope is a registered provider under the NDIS and delivers a range of services including supported independent living, short term accommodation (respite), social connections, lifestyle options, therapy and employment services in over 420 service locations across Victoria and NSW.

We are strengthening how risk and compliance operate across the organisation by integrating them more closely, simplifying how they work, and lifting maturity without adding unnecessary burden. To support this, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Risk, Compliance & Assurance with strong judgement, practical delivery capability, and confidence working both in the detail and with senior executives.

This is a senior role with genuine scope to shape how risk, compliance and resilience operate across a large, purpose‑driven organisation. You will work closely with senior leaders on issues that matter, in an environment that values judgement, clarity and practical outcomes.

About Your Role

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk, Compliance and Assurance, this role plays a key leadership role across enterprise risk, compliance, assurance and operational resilience.

The role also leads Scope’s business continuity and crisis management capability, supporting organisational preparedness and resilience.

This is a role for someone who can move comfortably between strategy and execution, who is credible in the tools, systems and data, and trusted for their advice, clarity and judgement.

Your Key Focus

You will be responsible for designing, embedding and continuously improving how risk and compliance operate in practice, from registers and KRIs through to breach management, assurance activity and governance reporting. You will work closely with senior leaders and operational teams to ensure risk and compliance are practical, proportionate and decision‑useful, particularly in a complex and evolving risk environment.

What will make you successful

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy rolling up your sleeves to build, improve and maintain risk and compliance frameworks, registers and dashboards
  • Are confident working with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems, data and evidence, not just concepts
  • Can translate complexity into clear insights and governance‑ready reporting
  • Bring calm, pragmatic judgement in high‑pressure or ambiguous situations
  • Value simplification and integration over parallel processes and unnecessary complexity

What We Look For

  • Significant experience leading enterprise risk and compliance programs, embedding frameworks, and uplifting risk maturity across complex or multi-entity organisations.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver training, workshops, and awareness programs to build risk capability and culture at all levels of an organisation
  • Strong knowledge of risk and compliance systems, processes, and practices, with the ability to integrate assurance activities and adapt frameworks to organisational needs.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing high-quality reports and insights for senior leadership and governance forums (ELT, Board Committees).
  • Experience in the human services, disability, health, or education sectors will be highly regarded.
