People Advisor

There’s never been a more exciting time to join Scope Australia.

We’re strengthening our People services to better support our organisation, our leaders and, most importantly, the people using our services. This is about lifting the employee experience, simplifying how we work, and building a People service that is consistent, responsive and trusted.

As a People Advisor you will deliver high volume organisational-wide People Advisory support as part of our People Shared-Services team.  If you enjoy leading others, improving ways of working, and delivering practical customer service at scale, this role is for you.

The Role

Reporting to the People Advisory Lead, the People Advisor is the first point of contact for employees and frontline leaders, delivering timely, high quality and employee centred support.  You will resolve straightforward matters at first contact using clear policies and processes, while knowing when to escalate more complex issues to specialist teams.

Your focus will be on volume, quality, speed and experience, while ensuring effective triaging and escalation of complex matters to specialist teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide timely, practical and trusted people advice, grounded in policy, awards and legislation
  • Be the front door to People support by managing the People Advisory inbox and HR Helpline, triaging queries and resolving matters with confidence and care
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding and contract variations through to parental leave and offboarding
  • Assist with performance, engagement and compliance processes, helping leaders and employees navigate these moments well
  • Maintain accurate people records, dashboards and advisory metrics, contributing to transparency and informed decision‑making
  • Support key compliance checks, including visas, licences and qualifications
  • Apply clear escalation frameworks, handing over complex matters with well‑documented context and judgement
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, procedures, tools and self‑help resources, making People support easier to access and use
  • Deliver a professional, approachable and customer‑focused experience, building trust with every interaction

What You’ll Bring

  • A tertiary qualification in HR or a related discipline (preferred) along with experience in a HR advisory or generalist role
  • Experience in applying a working knowledge of employment legislation, awards and industrial instruments
  • Significant experience in operationalizing people processes in a team environment
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in a unionised environment and multiple industrial instruments
  • Ability to advise leaders on performance management and employee lifecycle activities using relevant tools and processes

Flexible, Inclusive and Accessible

This role has been designed to be inclusive of people with disability. If you identify as a person with disability, we’ll work with you from the application stage to provide reasonable adjustments.

What We Offer

  • Sector‑comparable remuneration under the SCHADS Award
  • Salary packaging up to $15,900 per year
  • Free onsite and accessible parking at Scope offices
  • A supportive, collaborative People team
  • Meaningful work that makes a real difference
