About Your Role
As the Human Centred Service and User Experience Design Lead, you’ll establish and champion Scope’s approach to human-centred, UX/CX design within the Strategy Accelerator. You’ll lead research, design, and implementation processes to ensure new ideas are desirable, feasible, and viable—delivering exceptional experiences for Scope’s clients of the future. This is a strategic and hands-on role in a nimble team of five, based in Carlton’s innovation precinct, with occasional travel to Scope’s Head Office in Hawthorn and partner sites.
Your Key Focus
Design and implement human-centred and user experience frameworks, tools, and processes.
Lead user research and testing, translating insights into actionable design improvements.
Advocate for the voice and lived experience of customers, including people with disability.
Collaborate with stakeholders to co-design services and products aligned with Scope’s strategic goals.
Produce accessible materials including Easy English, Plain Language, and Auslan formats.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation in design practices.
Manage relationships with subject matter experts and oversee design governance.
What We Look For
You’re a strategic thinker and empathetic designer who thrives in ambiguity and rapid growth environments. You bring deep expertise in human-centred design and a passion for inclusive innovation.
Skills, experience, qualifications
Undergraduate degree in design, marketing, business, psychology or economics with HCD/UX components.
5+ years leading HCD, UX or CX programs, including user research and iterative design.
Experience designing for people with disability and inclusive communication formats.
Proficiency in prototyping tools and Agile development frameworks.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
