For you, care is a calling.
For us, it’s about living the life we choose.

We’re a group of 6 adults living across two Supported Independent Living homes in Lilydale. We’re a mix of middle-aged men and women who are highly independent and actively involved in our local community.

Our homes are places where we relax, make decisions, pursue our interests, spend time with friends, plan our weeks and live our lives. You’ll also be sharing one of our homes with a much-loved resident cat.

We enjoy staying connected and engaged, whether that’s through art, sport, community outings, social activities or simply spending time together.

We’re looking for Disability Support Workers to join us — people who understand that support isn’t about control or routine, but about enabling independence, choice and dignity.

People who walk alongside us, not ahead of us.

Why your role matters

Support looks different for each of us.

Because we’re highly independent, support is often about encouragement, guidance and being there when needed rather than doing everything for us.

Sometimes it’s help with daily tasks so we can get on with our day. Sometimes it’s support to take part in hobbies, attend sporting events, join social activities or get out into the community.

Most of all, we want to be respected, listened to and supported to make our own choices, stay connected and keep building our confidence and independence.

About the role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will help create a safe, respectful and supportive home by:

  • Supporting daily living tasks such as meals, routines or personal care when needed
  • Helping us get where we want to go, including work, appointments, social activities and community outings
  • Supporting participation in hobbies including art, sport and other interests
  • Encouraging independence rather than doing things for us
  • Respecting our choices, boundaries and routines
  • Being calm, reliable and consistent
  • Working as part of a team that communicates well and supports each other

Every day will look a little different — and that’s exactly how we like it.

Experience in disability support, mental health or complex needs is helpful, but your values and mindset matter most. We’re looking for people who see people with disability as people first, listen well, show up consistently and understand that good support is about dignity, choice and trust.

  • Helps people with disability belong and thrive
