Disability Support Worker ( DDSO1/1Q) – Colac

Role 1 - 103.5 hours:

  • Fortnight 1 total hours: 52
  • Fortnight 2 total hours: 51.50

Role 2 - 102 hours:

  • Fortnight 1 total hours: 45
  • Fortnight 2 total hours: 57

Role 3 - 113.5 hours:

  • Fortnight 1 total hours: 59
  • Fortnight 2 total hours: 54.50

Newly opened Olive Court will support three adults with intellectual disabilities, each with unique strengths and support needs.

Staff working in this home must be able to:

  • Build warm, respectful, person-centred relationships
  • Follow behaviour support strategies consistently
  • Support independence while maintaining structure and reassurance
  • Communicate clearly, calmly and predictably
  • Assist with daily-living tasks, health routines, and community participation

Staff will at times be required to work alone, this means:

  • Staff must be confident supporting residents independently
  • Staff must be able to make safe, calm decisions without immediate on-site backup
  • Strong adherence to plans, routines, safety procedures, and documentation is essential
  • Staff must be comfortable managing personal care, health routines, and behavioural supports independently
  • Staff will have access to on-call support and established escalation pathways
  • This home suits staff who are reliable, composed, and confident working autonomously when required.

The type of person we are looking for to join our team:

  • Calm, predictable, and patient
  • Confident working independently and following structured support plans
  • Skilled at de-escalation and emotional regulation support
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving
  • Respectful of privacy and autonomy
  • Reliable and consistent in routines

To be successful in this role you must have or be willing to obtain:

  • Qualification requirement of a Cert IV in disability
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance and Working with Children's Check (Employee)
  • Current Level 2 First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Valid Australian Working Rights and an International Police Check if you have lived or worked overseas for more than one (1) year within the last ten years.
  • Valid VIC drivers Licence
