About Your Role

Scope has an exciting and unique opportunity for a Kindergarten Inclusion Support (KIS) Project Engagement Officer to work within our Therapy department.

The role is responsible for gathering data through a process of review, observation, consultation and reflection with relevant stakeholders, including the Scope KIS Inclusion Team, the Additional Assistant peer group, and kindergarten services.

You will be required to have access to a suitable vehicle to enable onsite visits to early childhood services across the Northeast of Victoria Region.

The role is a part-time, 6 month fixed term role, where you will be required to work 4-days per week.

Your Key Focus

Reporting to the Inclusion Support Manager (KIS), the role is responsible for reflecting on and reporting the research data gathered, making recommendations and collaborating on the development of an action plan based on these findings, with the KIS Leadership Team.

In your role, you will:

  • Seek feedback from both current and past Additional Assistants regarding the benefits and challenges of working in the SCOPE KIS Program
  • Review our current Framework and observe our current practices for supporting our ‘Additional Assistant’ workforce.
  • Consult with kindergarten stakeholders regarding any perceived barriers identified in the skills and training of our ‘Additional Assistants’ workforce, within the perimeters of the programs guidelines.
  • Observe Additional Assistants in practice to identify further supports and training that would be beneficial in carrying out their role
  • Make recommendations and collaborate on the development of an action plan based on these findings, with the KIS Leadership Team.

What We Look For

  • Minimum Diploma Level in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education and complexities faced in the early childhood sector
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to critically analyse issues and develop and implement effective solutions
  • Ability to prioritse tasks and manage time effectively
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching early childhood educators
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in early childhood settings
