About The Role

Scope has an exciting opportunity for an experience People and Culture/WHS professional to partner with the newly formed NSW team to expand Scopes services in the NSW region.

Scope is a well-regarded disability provider in Victoria with a growth strategy to expand to a national presence over time. Established more than 75 years ago, Scope currently employs more than 4,400 staff across 300 Victorian locations.

In this start up position, you will be responsible for the provision of HR partnering support on a broad range of HR/WHS policies, programs, and practices, developing manager capability, and forming strong relationships that offer value-added solutions to the local team and to the expansion of service provisions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the NSW management team setup operational sites
  • Manage end to end employee lifecycle activities in line with Scope policies, process, and procedures

  • Work with the Group OH&S manager to provide timely advice and support around safety management, training, and proactive regulatory and statutory compliance.

  • Provide P&C input to management decisions, projects, and business plans
  • Provide leadership and advice on industrial/employment relations matters
  • Advise and support line management in regard to people related issues

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS/HR

  • Minimum 5 years+ operational experience in a similar People and Culture/WHS role in a human services environment of similar complexity/size of organisation.

  • Demonstrated success in the development of safety cultures that promote workplace health & safety while supporting the achievement of organisational deliverables.

  • Sound knowledge of and experience in applying contemporary human resource management theory, principles and practise.

  • Proven ability to successfully manage training, compliance and recruitment activities.

  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting relevant employment related legislation including FairWork Act, Employment Standards and Modern Awards.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment

  • Able to work remotely when necessary and willingness to travel
